Ron Shipmon is a seasoned arts writer, columnist, and cultural commentator with a career spanning over two decades. His expertise in contemporary, emerging, and digital art markets—honed through his work as a curator, art advisor, and appraiser—gives his writing a depth and authority that sets him apart.

He also developed Colgate-Palmolive’s first in-house exhibition program with a focus on diversity and inclusion. His work as a gallery owner and dealer—founding The American Gallery in New York and managing two London galleries—shaped his commitment to showcasing artists who have been historically marginalized in mainstream art spaces.

For his contributions to the arts, Shipmon has been honored with the NAACP’s David Weaver Prize for Excellence in the Arts (2023) and recognized as New Yorker of the Week by NY1 News.
